Information Technology is really necessary to improve our
customer’s logistics business. Nippon Express is a unique company that combines
transport solutions and IT solutions. For example, EDI is one solution that exchanges
transport information between customers and Nippon Express to improve customer’s
logistics business and reduce surplus stock.
To improve
logistics business, both parties from the departure and destination side need
to cooperate. Our European IT departments, located in London, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf
and Brussels, are single organizations but join with other IT departments in USA,
Asia and Japan to form the Nippon Express global IT department.
In January 2005 our London department received BS7799-2:2002 certification. This
is a standard for IT security management procedure established by the British
Standard Institute (BSI), and this standard places particular emphasis on the
operational management aspects of security. Providing comprehensive information
system management and development in the Europe region, our European IT department
offers information support for customers' logistics and operational processing
by Nippon Express Group companies. We pledge to continue operating stable and
highly secure information systems and providing solid support for high-quality
